Sugar Cookies
Basic and Classic
Great to use with Brown Bag Cookie molds

Ingredients:
4 cups sifted all purposed flour (sift before measuring)
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter softented
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt - set aside
In a large bowl beat together butter and sugar until fluffy
Add eggs and vanilla, beat well.
Stir in dry ingredients one third at a time until all is incorporated into a smooth, stiff dough
On wax paper lightly dusted with powdered sugar roll out dough to 1/4 in think rectangle.
Cut out cookies in desired shapes and place on greased baking sheet.
Repeat rolling and cutting until all dough is used.
Bake at 350° for 10 min. until cookies are firm and lightly brown.
Remove from sheet and allow to cool completely before decorating.
Notes:
The dough is very easy to work with and does not require refrigeration before rolling.
Dough can be stored in refrigerator for several days. Allow to come to room temperature before rolling.
